Job summary

Wayside Schools is seeking a talented High School Assistant Principal in Austin, TX to lead academic achievement and character development across our campus. You will partner with the principal to promote a culture of high expectations and collaborative practice.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and experience in leadership roles with a focus on data‑driven instruction, staff development, and strong stakeholder engagement. Texas public charter knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree in Education preferred.
• Administrative Certification preferred.
• 3+ years of teaching experience in a low income school.
• 2+ years in campus leadership roles such as coach, mentor teacher, team leader or curriculum support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote high expectations for staff and scholars.
• Maintain campus order and safety through established systems and protocols.
• Use impact and influence to align staff to campus mission and goals.
• Manage staff with goal setting, feedback, and development.
• Promote a scholar-focused, collaborative campus culture.
• Support academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of scholars.
• Develop strong relationships with staff, scholars, and parents.
• Use data to inform long and short-term goals.
• Serve as instructional leader promoting staff development and coaching.
• Promote innovative and data-driven instruction at all grade levels.
