North Marion High School in Aurora, Oregon is seeking a positive, student-centered Assistant Girls Basketball Coach to support our high school program. Under the Varsity Head Coach you will help develop skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while fostering a safe and inclusive team culture.

The ideal candidate will hold NFHS/ASEP certification, complete OSAA trainings, pass background checks, and demonstrate reliable communication and professionalism.

Qualifications

• NFHS/ASEP certification required.
• Completion of OSAA and District trainings prior to season start.
• Successful background and criminal history clearance prior to interaction with students.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community members.
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.

Responsabilités

High School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

North Marion School District is seeking a positive and student-centered Assistant Coach for Girls Basketball to support our high school athletic program. Assistant Coaches play an important role in helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field through skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character.

Successful candidates will build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community while creating a safe, inclusive, and competitive athletic environment aligned with District and OSAA expectations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Under leadership of the Varsity Head Coach, assist with the management and oversight of the high school girls basketball program
• Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team culture
• Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and administration
• Support student-athlete growth, accountability, and academic success
• Comply with all North Marion School District and OSAA rules, policies, and expectations
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Required Qualifications:

• NFHS/ASEP certification required
• Completion of all required OSAA and District trainings prior to season start
• Successful background and criminal history clearance prior to interaction with students
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community members
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience preferred
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
