Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia is seeking a high school athletics coach to provide leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction for varsity and junior varsity teams. You will work with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills, promote the program, and ensure compliance with VHSL rules.

The role involves handling equipment, organizing records, participating in fundraisers, and coordinating with the athletic director to assess program needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in all phases of the game, sport, or activity.
• Works with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
• Provides guidance and encouragement to help students profit from their participation.
• Maintain compliance of Chesterfield County Public Schools and VHSL rules, regulations, and policies.
• Promotes a favorable image of the school district and community partnerships.
• Works with the athletic director to evaluate program needs.
• Promotes proper use and care of school property.
• Communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, administration, community and the media.
• Handle financial items for the athletic program, including inventory and equipment purchase and fee collection.
• Participate in athletic department fund-raisers.
• Complete all necessary forms including VHSL eligibility forms.
• Organize and maintain records including VHSL forms, insurance info and stats.
• Be knowledgeable of and maintain health and safety practices.
