Job summary

West Senior High School in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking a dedicated athletic helper to assist coaching staff and participating students. You will support skill development, safety, and program administration under the Head Coach and athletic director, helping maintain a positive, disciplined athletic environment.

Responsibilities include aiding practice sessions, managing equipment and records, and ensuring compliance with school and league rules while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate is preferred.
• Experience in teaching, coaching, and sports medicine is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate success in area of application.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to TCAPS Code of Conduct; acts as a positive role model on and off the court/field/site.
• Helps participants in developing skills and understanding sport rules.
• Maintains records, statistics, and equipment inventory; supports fundraising.
• Ensures safety and reports injuries; coordinates with trainer and athletic staff.
• Helps coaching staff with practice sessions and conditioning programs.
• Fosters a positive environment free of hazing, harassment, and intimidation.
