The High School Head Coach represents the school and its athletic program in all aspects of team leadership and development. This position is responsible for planning and implementing effective practice sessions, mentoring and supporting student-athletes, and assisting with game-day preparation and management. The coach fosters a positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, academic success, and personal growth. Through strong leadership and collaboration, the coach promotes both athletic excellence and the overall development of student-athletes.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience is preferred, but may not be necessary
CHSAA Certification
Pass the CHSSA rules exam with 100%
Previous coaching experience in the specific sport or related field
Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities with frequent interruptions
Detail-oriented
Able to communicate effectively with a lot of different people
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Customer service and public relations skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
Maintain confidentiality of student information and records in compliance with confidentiality laws, including Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Must have a valid driver’s license
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting, at the employee’s expense.
CPR and First Aid certifications required within 90 days of hire
Operating knowledge of and experience with computers
Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, Google, email/calendar systems.
