Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements to teach ASL in high school.

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students on district/state standards aligned curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and goals meeting district expectations.
• Modify lessons and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Administer and interpret formal/informal assessments and progress data.
• Maintain records of student work and develop interventions to support growth.
• Communicate progress with parents and students in writing and verbally.
• Collaborate with grade-level and support staff to plan cross-class instruction.
• Meet regularly with support teachers and assistants to discuss modifications.
• Assign and assess work for student teachers/volunteers with feedback.
• Participate in district teams and committees; provide liaison to staff.
• Establish clear expectations and manage the classroom using positive behavior supports.
• Collaborate to plan, modify, and implement curriculum and district objectives.
• Create a safe, positive learning environment and model appropriate behavior.
• Enforce school policies; participate in staff development and improvement activities.
• Participate in events outside the regular day (orientation/open houses/conferences).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
