Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field.
• State teaching licensure/certificate is preferred but not a hiring prerequisite.
• Willing to work towards obtaining a teaching license.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc), Google Classroom, and RenWeb/FACTS is preferred.
• Understands the high school education culture and is able to interact professionally with students, faculty, and parents.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Teach art classes, including various forms of media such as painting, drawing, digital media, etc.
• Inspire in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression, using skills and techniques of artistic expression
• Allow students to view mistakes as essential steps in the creative process and ensure all students feel welcomed and supported.
• Explicitly teach students to reflect on their creative process, assess their own work with the goal of becoming independent, self-directed artists.
• Utilize technology to impact student learning and increase communication
• Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity
• Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, in adherence to the Student Handbook
• Possibility to sponsor, coach, or supervise extra-curricular activities
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
