Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in Art area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Plan and implement a program of study in visual arts that meets student needs
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Create a classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning objectives
• Prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation when requested
• Provide an instructional program to meet needs of all students including those with disabilities
• Confer with parents/guardians, counselors, and administrators to resolve challenges
• Attend PLCs and staff meetings for instructional planning
• Perform safety functions to maintain a safe instructional environment
• Participate in professional development focused on improving skills
