Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC teaching certification or eligible for NC certification in Art.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies and procedures.
• Align with North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
• Assist administration in applying district rules and classroom conduct.
• Create high standards and expectations for all students.
• Plan and implement visual arts instruction meeting diverse needs.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using varied methods.
• Establish engaging classroom environment and learning objectives.
• Set objectives based on NC standards and district curriculum framework.
• Prepare lessons in advance and provide written evidence on request.
• Provide programs to meet needs of all students including those with disabilities and ELL.
• Communicate with parents, counselors, and administrators to address challenges.
• Participate in PLCs and professional development.
• Maintain safety practices and supervise safe learning environments.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
