Job summary

Commonpoint Queens is seeking a part-time role at Martin Van Buren High School to lead after-school intramural sports and related activities. You will supervise students, teach rules, and foster teamwork and healthy competition across varied skill levels.

Responsibilities include planning sessions, equipment setup, attendance tracking, and timely documentation. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred; flexibility for after-school hours is required.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or mentoring high school students.
• Knowledge of team or individual sports and age-appropriate coaching practices.
• Ability to supervise groups, set clear expectations, and engage varied skill levels.
• Strong communication, organization, reliability, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate intramural sports, fitness activities, drills, games, and friendly competitions for grades 9-12.
• Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Teach game rules, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
• Prepare activity plans, set up equipment, and keep spaces clean and organized.
• Take attendance, monitor participation, and submit program records on time.
• Respond to injuries or emergencies per procedures, and collaborate with staff.
