AmeriCorps is seeking a member for the High Rocks - Gardens, Food, and Wellness Education program in WEST VIRGINIA. This full-time role involves growing fresh food, mentoring youth, leading workshops, and coordinating garden activities across multiple community sites.
The position emphasizes community engagement, teaching youth about gardening, nutrition, and market skills, with opportunities to contribute to wellness education and environmental practices.
This AmeriCorps member will help support our gardens, high tunnels, and local foods programs while working directly with community members and young people. They’ll help grow fresh, healthy food for youth programs and teach young people how to grow, market, and sell nutritious food. They’ll also be involved in our Grow Appalachia program, where community members learn how to grow and cook food. Experience is a bonus, but not required — what we’re looking for is someone who loves working with community members and young people and is excited about growing and sharing healthy, delicious food.
