Job summary

Church & Dwight is seeking a High Reach/Palletizer Operator for our York, PA distribution facility. The role supports the Warehouse Coordinator, directing workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are G Shift: Mon-Tue nights and Sat-Sun nights, with a $30.34/hour base including a $2 shift differential. Previous high-reach forklift experience is required, along with a HS diploma or GED and at least 2 years in distribution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of distribution operations experience including equipment, materials, workflow, WMS and forklift operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• High-reach truck experience required.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture and adhere to plant safety policies.
• Direct product workflow from stretch wrappers to storage locations.
• Maintain adequate supply of empty pallets for palletizer utilization.
• Coordinate changeovers of palletizers and stretch wrappers.
• Coordinate end of work orders with Manufacturing Technical Line Operators and other operations personnel.
• Ensure line clearance during changeover to new work order.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot palletizers, stretch wrappers, PLS and related equipment.
• Supply raw materials to palletizer area.
• Inspect pallets against quality standards and document results.
• Assist with training and certification programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

High Reach/Palletizer Operator – G Shift

Monday - Tuesday 09:30pm – 06:00am Saturday Sunday 05:30pm – 05:30am

The hourly wage for this position is $28.34, plus $2.00/hour shift dif.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Coordinator as a working capacity to direct the work flow and scheduling functions in a high volume, fast-paced distribution facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):

• Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Directs product workflow from stretch wrappers to storage locations.
• Maintains adequate supply of empty pallets for palletizer utilization.
• Coordinates changeovers of palletizers and stretch wrappers.
• Coordinates end of work orders with Manufacturing Technical Line Operators and other operations personnel.
• Ensures line clearance during changeover to new work order.
• Mechanical operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and PM’s on all palletizers, stretch wrappers, pallet labeling system (PLS) and associated equipment.
• Supplies raw materials as needed to equipment in palletizer area, such as stretch wrap, labels, ribbon, etc.
• Inspects pallets against quality standards and documents results.
• Assists with training and certification program as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in distribution operations, including equipment, materials, workflow, WMS and forklift operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• High-reach truck experience is required, as a high-reach truck will be utilized for this job function.

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferred experience working on a standup forklift.
• Mechanical and technical ability, ability to troubleshoot, perform PM’s, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.
• Must have ability to communicate clearly in English – verbal and written.
• Strong organizational/time management skills.

REQUIRED TRAINING:

Candidates are required to complete all necessary trainings within the defined introductory period.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The operations is not in a climate controlled environment. Candidates will be exposed to the seasonal temperature variations. All candidates will be required to abide to all PPE standards and department dress code.
