Job description

System Administrator, High Performance Computing (HPC) – P3 (Principal Specialist)

This Principal Specialist (P3) High-Performance Computing candidate will provide Raytheon Digital Technology with High Performance Computing Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of High-Performance Computing hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Understand software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting to lead and support the engineering community.
  • Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on high-performance computing systems. Work across Digital Technology functions to standardize processes and procedures.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced Digital Technology HPC processes and procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members.
  • Obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience in Windows and/or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening.
  • Experience maintaining a medium-sized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Experience in project leadership, management, or project management in a Digital Technology domain and basic to advanced scripting experience.
  • An active DoD Secret or Top‑Secret Clearance.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration (LDAP).
  • Unix (including Linux and Solaris) experience in a medium to high complex environment.
  • Working knowledge of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia.

Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.
