Job summary

Cerebras Systems is hiring for a Host and Network IO Software Engineer in Sunnyvale to bridge AI application IO teams, cluster tech, and FPGA/ASIC groups. You will optimize bandwidth, latency, and congestion while delivering robust management tools.

The role emphasizes socket programming, RDMA, and deep knowledge of server, NIC, protocol, switch, and hardware behavior to improve AI performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS/EE or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with large software environments and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with TCP/RoCE networks and network debugging tools.
• Willingness to learn Arista/Juniper switches and related infra.
• Detail-oriented with ability to balance depth and the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

• Develop x86 & ARM software to expose next-generation hardware IO capabilities for AI/HPC application teams.
• Govern a generic IO API with multiple internal users.
• Develop control and configuration subsystems directly interacting with Cerebras hardware.
• Drive network performance debugging of large AI clusters.
• Gather and analyze network statistics and traces to root cause bottlenecks.
• Develop tools/telemetry for visibility into the network and IO datapath.
• Optimize CPU/mem utilization leveraging kernel bypass and zero-copy techniques.
• Integrate leading edge networking technologies and protocols.
• Lead cross-functional projects spanning multiple teams and hardware/software components.
• Foster clear and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
