Job summary

Live Nation Entertainment, operating the House of Blues venue in Minneapolis, is seeking a bartender who can deliver friendly, attentive service while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

You'll interact with guests, craft beverages to recipe specs, manage cash at the bar, and handle food orders. This role requires responsible alcohol service, late hours, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement.
• Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
• Must be able to work late hours.
• Cash handling experience.
• Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor
• Cultivate regular guests and repeat business
• Successfully use a jigger to maintain a consistent pour across all drink/pour sizes
• Appropriately sell both beverages and menu items to guests at the bar
• Deliver food items and beverage orders promptly
• Prioritize and organize drink orders
• Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, abide by all control systems
• Record any equipment failure and/or safety hazards in bar log
• Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
• Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance alcohol awareness training and HOB alcohol policies
• Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
• Maintain HOB safety and sanitation standards
• Perform Opening/Running/Closing duties according to HOB policy
• Prepare guest checks (on point of sales terminal) and process payment according to HOB policy
• Perform check-out procedures
• Maintain appropriate Comp and Spill checks
• Required to occasionally work Special Events that are scheduled throughout the venue
