Job summary

FMI Composites is hiring for a Composite Operator I - Hi-Temp in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves safe operation of high-temperature furnaces, ovens, and related equipment, including loading/unloading materials and monitoring processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined with 1+ year manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work shifts as listed is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of manufacturing or related experience preferred; composites, textiles, or similar manufacturing experience a plus.
• Must have access to export-controlled information; U.S. Person status required under export control laws.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions, production procedures, specifications, safety requirements, diagrams, and schedules.
• Fabricate, process, inspect, and package composite materials while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Operate production equipment including furnaces, ovens, and presses; perform loading, unloading, startup, and shutdown activities.
• Monitor equipment and processes; respond to issues and participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Inspect materials and perform quality checks using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Record inspection results and complete required computer entries, production records, equipment logs, and safety/quality documentation.
• Safely move materials using hoists, electric pallet jacks, and other approved material-handling equipment.
• Perform routine light equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment, fumes, particles, noise, heights, chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibration.
• Cross-train and assist coworkers to support a flexible, team-oriented production environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
