Job summary

AJM Packaging Corporation in Taylor, MI is seeking Hi-Lo Operators to operate a sit-down or stand-up forklift to unload, move, stack and stage products. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, you must be 18 or older, and have at least 1 year of forklift experience with weekend availability.

Position Overview

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls, and bags, is seeking Hi-Lo Operators to join our team in Taylor, MI. This position will operate an industrial truck equipped with a forklift to unload, push, pull, lift, stack, move and stage products and materials.

Pay

• $18.35/HR to start
• Plus an additional $0.50/HR for every hire you refer to AJM, with no limit on the number of referrals

Responsibilities & Duties

• Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
• Safely operates forklift and/or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, and staging products.
• Works cooperatively and productively with supervisors and other associates in order to complete tasks.
• Arranges cartons on pallets keeping in mind size, weight, height, etc.
• Loads trucks keeping in mind cubic weight, size and characteristics (i.e., easily crushable,) in mind.
• Works productively (i.e., receiving products, picking products, etc.) with little supervision.
• Maintains condition of warehouse and work area (I.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
• Additional duties as assigned.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.

AJM was originally founded as a distributor of commercial paper, plastic and foil packaging products and related cleaning, janitorial and order processing supplies and equipment by three (3) Detroit area brothers operating out of a small warehouse in Detroit’s Eastern Market.
