Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Home Health Aide in Newnan, GA. This PRN position requires a Georgia CNA license and provides patient-centered home health care with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vitals, maintaining a safe home environment, and reporting changes to the care team. Compensation is hourly and reflects local markets and experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification as required by Georgia rules.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs (temperature, pulse, BP, respiration).
• Maintain a clean, safe home care environment.
• Assist patient with bed mobility, bathing, hygiene and toileting.
• Assist with meals and meal prep as needed.
• Perform light homemaking and environmental tasks.
• Observe and report changes in patient status.
• Monitor body functions and report abnormalities as directed.
• Recognize emergencies and follow procedures.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Follow care plan written instructions for personal care.
• Assist with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse/therapist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Obtains temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
• Assists patient with getting in and out of bed, bathing, hygiene, and toileting.
• Prepares and provides and/or assists with meals.
• Performs light homemaking and other environmental services.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient status.
• Understands basic elements of body functioning and reports changes in patient's body functions as indicated.
• Recognizes emergency situations and implements appropriate emergency procedures per care center policy.
• Follows care center procedures regarding infection prevention and control, handling of hazardous waste and safety measures.
• Follows specific written instructions for personal care in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assists patient with prescribed exercises as instructed per nurse or therapist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years. If it has been more than two years, you must complete another training and competency program before providing services.
• Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
• Current CPR certification.
