Job summary

Ambercare is urgently hiring Home Care Aides (HCAs) in Santa Fe, Pojoaque, Tesuque, Los Alamos, Chimayo and surrounding areas. The Home Care Aide - Flex works on call 5 days per week with 40 hours weekly (20 guaranteed), providing essential in-home care to clients living independently.

Duties include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation to errands, medication assistance, and reporting changes to the office.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and insurance if driving.

Responsibilities

• Call the office every morning for assignment and follow care plans.
• Assist with personal care, housekeeping, meal prep and laundry.
• Transport client to appointments and errands; assist with medications.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisor.

We are urgently hiring Home Care Aides - HCAs - in these cities: Santa Fe, Pojoaque, Tesuque, Los Alamos, and Chimayo, and many other areas!

This position serves a vital function in support of the company's clients, seniors and people with disabilities living independently in their homes, but who need assistance with daily tasks. The Home Care Aide - Flex is on call for 5 days per week -- minimum one day being a weekend day, 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed). Work schedule is to be determined by the direct supervisor and this position cannot refuse assignments on scheduled days.

Duties

• The Home Care Aide - Core calls into the office every morning for assignment.
• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks
• Assist with personal care needs of the client (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry
• Transport client to doctor's office, grocery store and other essential errands
• Assist client with the self-administration of medications
• Observe and report any changes in client's condition

Position Requirements & Competencies

• 5 days per week -- minimum one day is a weekend day
• 40 Hours per week (20 hours guaranteed)
• On call for 24 hour shifts
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized
