About the Patient:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide personalized care for an 18-year-old male with ADHD, nutritional deficits, and some challenges with verbal and sensory skills. The patient is high functioning but requires support with redirection and companionship to encourage and foster greater independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with daily activities to promote independence, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and managing medication routines.
• Offer redirection and encouragement when needed, supporting the patient in building self-reliance in various tasks.
• Serve as a compassionate companion, maintaining a positive and encouraging environment for the patient.
• Support the patient with strategies to manage ADHD-related challenges, improving focus and promoting self-sufficiency.
• Assist with sensory and verbal communication needs, helping the patient improve his verbal and social skills.
• Monitor and address any nutritional deficits, providing guidance on healthy eating habits and assisting with meal planning and preparation.
• Maintain clear and open communication with the patient’s family or healthcare team

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Eligible level two background with AHCA
• Current CPR
• TB test showing a negative result within the last year
• Experience working with high-functioning patients with ADHD or similar challenges.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Strong communication skills, especially with individuals experiencing verbal and sensory difficulties.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (40 hours per week with flexible days and times).
• Experience promoting independence in individuals with complex care needs.
