HGV Driver Class 1 C+E and Class 2

Location: Chadderton, Oldham OL9 9EY
Salary: Potential annual earnings in excess of £39,000 + £41,000 +, opportunity for overtime, Tax free night out allowance, away from base meal allowance

Job Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Driver to join our team. We are looking for Class 2 drivers and Class 1 C+E drivers to work for a family run business in general haulage. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations in a timely and safe manner using a Moffett forklift. We transport both general goods and dangerous goods. If you are a skilled driver with proven experience seeking a new chapter in your career, this role is for you. Previous Moffett experience is desired but the right candidate will receive training.

Duties:

1. Safely operate curtain sided trailers and demonstrate the securing of goods per DVSA Guidelines.
2. Load and unload product using appropriate equipment (Moffett forklift) following health and safety at all times.
3. Transport Dangerous goods.
4. Perform truck and trailer inspections before and after each trip.
5. Adhere to traffic laws and regulations at all times.
6. Maintain accurate records of deliveries ensuring PODS are adequately signed.
7. Be able to work night outs as and when required.
8. Must have a professional and flexible approach when representing the company having a can-do attitude.

Requirements:

1. Hold a valid commercial vehicle driving licence (Category C + E) old class 1 or (Class 2).
2. Hold a valid and up to date CPC card.
3. Proven driving experience for 2 years minimum.
4. Excellent driving skills.
5. Ability to drive long hours and travel long distances and stay away overnight.
6. Strong time management and organisational skills.
7. Strong work ethics.
8. Flexible in work and willing to get hands dirty.
9. Good presentation dedicated to ensuring the cleanliness of truck allocated to you.
