My job

Under the direction of the Mill Manager, deliver feed and collect raw materials in accordance with the Daily Transport Sheet, ensuring standards set by the Mill Manager are met.

In your job, you will liaise with: Mill operatives, other charge hands, maintenance staff, drivers, cleaning staff, raw material department staff, farm managers, Anwick garage staff, office staff, and the Mill Manager.

1. Gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
2. Ensure full compliance with Moy Park procedures and Department of Transport legislation.
3. Ensure all vehicles and trailers are loaded safely for transit by securing loads and checking pre-loaded trailers as far as practicably possible.
4. Ensure all goods distributed via Moy Park Distribution are delivered correctly, in the right condition, and on time. Notify transport or relevant office if this is not achievable.
5. Drive your vehicle safely and courteously at all times, wearing appropriate company uniform and adhering to legal speed limits.
6. Maintain high standards of personal conduct on customer sites and follow all site rules.
7. Check and set correct temperature settings on vehicles and trailers before and during journeys, including 10 minutes before arrival.
8. Maintain confidentiality of Moy Park and customer information at all times.
9. Clean your vehicle inside and out to the highest standard upon return to base at the end of each shift.
10. Follow all company biosecurity protocols.
11. Adhere to all Moy Park policies and procedures as outlined in the driver handbook and other communications.
12. Follow all codes of practice on animal welfare.
13. Report any health and safety risks to management as soon as possible.
14. Inspect vehicles and trailers for damage or defects at the start of each shift, complete defect forms, and report issues promptly, especially if defects are found.
15. Ensure all necessary documents and records are returned in a timely and correct manner, complying with D.O.T legislation.
16. Drive in a manner that promotes the company's positive image to customers, road users, and the public.
17. Actively seek to reduce environmental impact, including waste reduction and recycling.
