Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, SC, is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to own the quality of hot gas path components produced in our Greenville facility. You will establish and maintain process controls, validate designs, and ensure products meet specifications from design to shop floor.

You will lead 4Ds and 8Ds for internal and external non-conformances, manage quality KPIs, and collaborate with design and operations to improve yield and reduce defects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in quality)
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience or relevant intern or co-op experience

Job Description Summary

Would you like an opportunity to have a tangible impact on 1/3 of the world’s electricity production? Come join us on the Hot Gas Path Quality Team, where we have a direct impact on the quality, timeliness, and reliability of GE’s gas turbine fleet. The right candidate will join us in ownership of the quality of hot gas path components manufactured in our Greenville facility, specifically focused on maintaining the internal processes required to enable high quality products, monitoring the results of those processes with internal and external customers, determining root cause of any non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions within their area of responsibility.

Roles and Responsibilities

Define and implement controls for production process and product. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes working closely with Manufacturing Engineers. Develops knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; builds awareness of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Maintain and improve process documentation active (Control Plans, PFMEAs, Methods, BiQ forms) and enforced in assigned area to ensure consistent quality and sustainability. Implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity. Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of quality, quantity, and timeliness in order to meet goals. Lead 4Ds and 8Ds problem solving for internal and external non-conformances. Lead the team in the usage of the problem solving tools to define the root cause and countermeasures. Manage Quality KPIs for the assigned cell, utilize this data to drive resolution in order to meet targets and goals. Work with Design Lead Engineer to timely disposition non conforming parts on the line. Provide support to operations to increase First Time Yield and reduce defect rate.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in quality)
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience or relevant intern or co-op experience
Desired Characteristics

  • Prior Gas Turbine component experience and knowledge preferred

Relocation Assistance Provided: No For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $76,300.00 and $114,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
