Job summary

Family Service Of Rhode Island is seeking an HEZ Director to lead the South Providence 02905 Health Equity Zone with day-to-day oversight of staff and program activities.

You will coordinate with RIDOH and partners, implement work plans, and supervise staff while securing funding opportunities. Excellent communication and culturally competent service are essential. Some travel and nontraditional hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in human service or public health field is required.
  • Experience in community engagement, project management and supervision is required; strong critical thinking, creativity and flexibility to meet changing priorities are needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a CHW certification within a year of service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HEZ operations and staff.
  • Engage community support and HEZ membership.
  • Attend RIDOH and partner meetings.
  • Ensure activities in HEZ Work and Evaluation Plans are implemented.
  • Complete required reports and coordinate with Quality Improvement Committee on outcomes and data.

Job Location: Thurbers Ave - Providence, RI 02905. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: Graduate Degree. Salary Range: $84,342.00 - $104,869.00. Travel Percentage: Up to 50%. Job Shift: Day.

Position Summary

The HEZ Director is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, leadership, and management of the South Providence 02905 Health Equity Zone (HEZ). Supervises the HEZ staff to ensure progress toward initiative activities and goals. The HEZ Director will engage community support/membership for the HEZ collaborative and any work groups. The HEZ Director will be responsible for attending all meetings with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and other partners relating to the HEZ initiative. The HEZ Director will ensure that all activities outlined in the HEZ Work and Evaluation Plans and Action Plan are implemented. The HEZ Director will be responsible for completing all required reports and will work in coordination with the Quality Improvement Committee on outcome measurement and data collection systems. The HEZ Director will be responsible for securing funding opportunities including assisting in writing grant/other applications.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in human service or public health field (psychology, social work, public health administration, etc.) required.
  • Community engagement, project management and supervision experience required; critical thinking skills, creativity and flexibility in meeting changing priorities and demands; attention to details; identifying and resolving obstacles to improvement/ goals.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a CHW certification within a year of service.
  • Familiarity with the 02905 area and/or goals of the HEZ initiative.
  • Ability to provide culturally competent services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and customer service skills required; experience building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize self and others.
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative; to prioritize and to proceed logically.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
  • Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.
Physical Requirements
  • Travel within the community, to and from agency site locations, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
  • Ability to work a nontraditional work schedule to include some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in person and remotely.
  • Ability to manage various software platforms and databases.
