Job summary

TopBuild Home Services is seeking a Nashville-based HERS Index Rater to perform energy efficiency tests on new construction homes. Travel to local sites with a company vehicle is required.

Training is provided for candidates new to the field, with preference for RESNET/HERS Rater certification and related energy testing knowledge. You will conduct blower door, ventilation, duct leakage, and infrared inspections, verify ratings, and compile home performance reports using company software.

Qualifications

• Training provided for teachable candidates lacking prior experience.
• RESNET RFI / HERS Rater certification strongly preferred.
• BPI or Building Science energy testing experience a plus.
• Must be 18 years old and able to drive (valid license).

Responsibilities

• Conduct energy efficiency testing and punch list inspections on new construction homes.
• Perform blower door testing and ventilation testing.
• Conduct duct leakage testing and code-based energy inspections.
• Verify HERS, Energy Star or other program ratings.
• Communicate standards to customers and officials and coordinate with site supers.
• Conduct infrared scans and prepare home performance reports.
• Log results in company software and prepare reports.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

HERS rater preferred, BPI certification or other relevant energy inspection experience welcome.
