Job summary

QXO seeks a HERS Rater / Rating Field Inspector to join our field team in the Columbus, GA area. You will conduct blower door, ventilation, and duct leakage tests on new construction homes, perform infrared scans, and prepare performance reports using our software.

Travel to job sites will be required, and training is provided for candidates eager to gain certifications. Ideal candidates have energy testing experience or certifications, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license if operating a vehicle for company purposes.
• Experience with energy testing or related certifications is preferred.
• Training will be provided for teachable candidates who lack prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blower door testing and ventilation testing.
• Perform duct leakage and infrared scans on new construction homes.
• Prepare home performance reports and test logs in company software.
• Coordinate with site superintendents on scheduling and troubleshooting tests.
• Ensure compliance with code and company standards during inspections.

We work directly with builders offering a number of services including pre-construction plan reviews, home energy analysis software and diagnostic testing.Your ResponsibilitiesWe have an opportunity for a HERS Rater / Rating Field Inspector / Home Energy Tester to join our team. You will conduct a variety of energy efficiency testing and punch list inspections on new construction houses.Prepare new construction homes for inspection services.Conduct blower door testing.Conduct ventilation testing.Perform duct leakage testing.Conduct code – based energy inspections.Verify HERS, Energy Star or other specialized program rating.Work with local site superintendents on job scheduling and test troubleshooting.Communicate code and company standards to customers and local officials.Conduct infrared scans.Work within company software program to complete test results and log reporting and other vital information.Prepare home performance reports.Adhere to company communication standards, policies and procedures.Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.Your SkillsAble to learn new things and have the desire to gain more experience and new certifications over time.Dependable, energetic and has good speaking and interpersonal skills.Comfortable working independently on construction job sites.Comfortable with computers, smart phone / tablet and familiarity with Microsoft tools like Word, Excel and Outlook.Your QualificationsMinimum of 18 years of age.If operating a vehicle for company purposes, a valid driver's license is required.Existing RESNET RFI / HERS Rater certification is strongly preferred.BPI, Building Science or other energy testing experience or knowledge is preferred.** Training will be provided by the company for teachable candidates who lack prior experience.**THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONTravel RequirementsType of Travel Required: Local; Out of town travel as required.Amount of Travel Required: >50%; up to 100%Physical RequirementsThis role requires prolonged standing and repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
