IEEE is seeking a Historian to join the History and Heritage team in Piscataway, NJ. The role focuses on researching, developing, and presenting historical content related to IEEE, its members, and related technologies.

The Historian will manage projects, collaborate with internal teams, and engage with external audiences to advance IEEE History and Heritage programs. Strong writing, research, and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in history or related field required (PhD preferred).
• 4-7 years postgraduate experience in related field required, 7-10 preferred.
• Broad expertise in history of technology and public history; not-for-profit experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Independently researching and developing historical content for special projects.
• Cultivating relationships within IEEE and the historical community; outreach to public audiences.
• Advancing programs by coordinating with History & Heritage and CEE staff and managing projects.
