Job summary

Wellmark in Des Moines, IA is expanding its Pharmacy analytics team and seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Analyst to blend clinical insight with data-driven storytelling. You will gather and interpret clinical and economic evidence to support formulary decisions and healthcare improvements.

You will collaborate with Business Analytics, Actuarial, and Health Services teams to ensure data integrity, deliver measurable outcomes, and communicate findings to leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or related clinical discipline.
• 4+ years of clinical pharmacy experience in health plan, PBM, or related industry with pharmacoeconomic review ability.
• Proven ability to organize and analyze clinical data and translate results into actionable insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel (pivot tables, trend analysis).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to summarize literature and present findings.
• Experience collaborating across teams to support formulary decisions and value storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation of pharmacy solutions by collecting, validating, and organizing clinical and economic data.
• Participate in opportunity sizing analyses and contribute to data-driven recommendations.
• Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings from HEOR/CER studies.
• Create and maintain pharmacy value stories, articulating ROI and health outcomes.
• Perform data entry, modeling, and reporting to support formulary decisions.
• Develop tools and templates for tracking outcomes and value of interventions.
• Contribute to cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and budget impact analyses.
• Assemble HEOR and CER materials for presentations and decision-making.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners for evaluations.
• Develop skills in data analytics and consultative communication through team projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
