General Function:
Under the direction of the Center Aquatics Director, the Associate Aquatics Director will supervise and implement aquatic programs at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA. This role involves frontline duties (50% of the time) and administrative responsibilities (50% of the time).

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations of the aquatics department
  2. Develop, promote, and evaluate aquatic programs
  3. Handle staff scheduling, training, and supervision
  4. Ensure safety practices and financial operations align with goals
  5. Engage with members and program participants on the pool deck
  6. Lifeguard and teach swim lessons as needed

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. At least 2 years of leadership experience in aquatics
  3. Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding
  4. Strong skills in personnel management, program planning, and administrative tasks
  5. Team-oriented leadership style
  6. Act as a First Responder in emergencies
  7. Manage departmental budget and meet financial targets
  8. Select, train, and supervise staff
  9. Promote YMCA goals and evaluate programs
  10. Prepare reports and assist with Center supervision and public relations
  11. Contribute to the Annual Campaign and community outreach
