Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Hemodialysis Tech II to join our team and help advance training for staff and ESRD patient care. The role collaborates with the Clinic Manager and Nurse Educator to implement dialysis theory in daily practice.

You will coordinate onboarding, refresh training, and ensure adherence to UH policies, procedures and safety standards while supporting clinical education on the dialysis floor.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• PCT with at least 1 year of hemodialysis experience within the last 24 months.
• CCHT certification is required.
• Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Clinic Manager and Department Nurse Educator to lead training for staff.
• Initiate clinical floor training incorporating UH policies, procedures and dialysis theory.
• Support ESRD patient care training on dialysis units

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hemodialysis Tech II position will coordinate with the Clinic Manager and Department Nurse Educator in the training process for all newly hired and existing staff members. The Hemodialysis Tech II is responsible for initiating all clinical floor training that teaches and integrates UHpolicies, procedures and dialysis theory for the treatment of ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) patients for all dialysis clinical floor position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma/GED or higher is required
• Must be a PCT with at least a year of experience in hemodialysis within the last 24 months
• CCHT certification is required
• Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card
