Job summary

University Health System is seeking a Hemodialysis Technician to provide patient care across hospital, clinics, dialysis centers and occasionally at home. You will join a team delivering comprehensive kidney care to adults and children.

The role involves preparing dialysis machines, performing tests, weighing patients and obtaining baseline vitals, and supporting the nurse in coordinating treatments under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Card required.
• New hires with no prior hemodialysis PCT experience must be enrolled or have completed a hemodialysis technician program and obtain certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide chronic hemodialysis treatments to patients under direct supervision of the Charge Nurse.
• Prepare machines, run tests before connection, rinse, prime dialyzers, install tubing, and set up the dialysis bath.
• Weigh patients, obtain baseline vital signs, and obtain blood samples or other specimens as ordered.

University Health System is looking for Hemodialysis Technicians.

University provides care in the hospital, care at our clinics, care at our dialysis centers and, sometimes, care at your home. We see adults and children for routine kidney problems, complex kidney diseases, dialysis and transplant care

As a Dialysis Technician you will:

• Provide chronic hemodialysis treatments to the patients under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse
• Prepare machines: runs tests on machines before connecting Hansons to dialyzers. Then rinses, primes dialyzer, install all required tubing; connects fluid delivery system and bath for dialysis
• Weighs patient and obtains baseline vital signs
• Obtains blood samples and other specimens as ordered, then initiates dialysis utilizing established access routes.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED required
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Card required
• New hires with no prior hemodialysis PCT experience must be currently enrolled or have completed a hemodialysis technician program and obtain certification within 18 months of their hire date
