The Holiday Inn Oceanside is hiring now for a part-time bartender. We are seeking dedicated associates who want to grow their career in hospitality. Cross training is available in other positions. We are inviting candidates with a passion for guest service, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of beers & spirits to apply for our Part-Time Bartender position at Hemingway's Restaurant & Bar Pilar, located inside the Holiday Inn Oceanside.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant, including knowledge of state and local liquor regulations.
• Greet guests and take their orders (food and beverage), utilizing up-selling techniques; answer outlet telephone using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
• Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using proper measuring systems; prepare fresh garnishes for drinks and restock the bar with ice, supplies, and alcohol.
• Accurately enter food & beverage orders into a point-of-sale system. Process all payment methods. Count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure the bank.
• Work well with others and be a team player.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
• At least one year of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Previous hotel experience is preferred.
• Availability to work a varied schedule including days, weekends, and holidays.
• Proof of responsible alcohol server training (TIPS) or ability to pass TIPS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
