Job summary

Essen Health Care in New York seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with blood disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings.

The physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across oncology, pathology, radiology and primary care to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, with a focus on evidence-based medicine.

Candidates must hold MD/DO, NY license, and ABIM Hematology certification or eligibility; bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Hematology (ABIM).
• Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility).
• Strong clinical skills and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hematologic conditions (anemia, clotting disorders, hemoglobinopathies, hematologic malignancies, etc.).
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, bone marrow biopsies, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, transfusion management, and anticoagulation therapy.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
• Participate in call coverage as required.

Pay: $250,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
