Job summary
The Hematology/Oncology Physician shall provide care at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in the Medical Service. All labor and services shall be provided including management - supervision - teaching - consultations and reports.
Performance shall be according to the requirements contained in this functional statement and professional standards of The Joint Commission. Duties include direct hands-on patient care, supervision of medical residents and students, and coordinating with the Medical
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent from LCME/COCA approved schools
- Residency training completed in an accredited core specialty program
- Current full and unrestricted medical license
- English language proficiency in speaking and writing
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in hematology/oncology
- Supervise and teach medical residents and students
- Coordinate care with the Medical Service and consult services
- Ensure documentation and reporting meet Joint Commission standards
