A leading healthcare provider in Vacaville is seeking a Locum Oncology MD/DO to join their Cancer Center. This role involves providing care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a diverse patient population with hematology and oncology needs, and includes a competitive hourly rate. Locum Oncology MD/DO needed in Vacaville, CA
Wellness Center - Cancer Center Department
Top Hourly and Daily 24/hrs rate (with 4 gratis hours included) for weekend call

Specialty: Hematology/Oncology
Credentialing: ASAP start (60-90 day estimated credentialing time)
Start: July/August 2025
End: 6 months from start date
Schedule: Clinic coverage (M-F) + 24hr call shifts in hospital (7a-7a) on weekends. They expect 1 weekend per month of call to be needed.
Patient Volume: Average patient load is 1-2 new patients per day and 12 follow-up patients. Weekend volume is dependent on emergencies & census.
Procedures: Diagnose, treat, and manage adult patients with a full spectrum of both benign and malignant conditions including solid tumors, benign hematology (clotting disorders, anemia, cytopenias, sickle cell, etc.) and malignant hematology (acute and chronic leukemias, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders, etc.). Typical referrals are about 2/3 hematology and 1/3 oncology
EMR: Cerner
License: CA
Certifications: Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology and Oncology
Relevant Exp/Skill Set Needed: Proven experience in hematology/oncology, with expertise in the diagnosis and management of both hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Strong diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care. Ensure all care complies with industry standards, including those established by the NCCN, ASCO, and regulatory bodies
