Hematology/Oncology Opening in Brunswick County, NC

Full-Time & Permanent Position

Seeking a BE/BC Hematologist/Oncologist to join our group.

Practice Details

• Predominantly outpatient, hospital-based practice in Wilmington, North Carolina.
• Care is provided at NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art regional cancer center in Wilmington, and in our community-based, QOPI-certified office in Brunswick County.
• The cancer center offers highly disease-specific multidisciplinary cancer care in collaboration with radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, advanced radiology, and pathology.
• This collaboration enables our hematology and oncology team to deliver the highest level of patient care.
• Opportunities include tumor board collaboration, multidisciplinary clinics, and advanced hospice and palliative care, fostering high clinician involvement and job satisfaction.
• Many faculty members participate in our partnership with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, serving as UNC clinical professors. We host clinical clerkship years (3rd and 4th) and multiple residencies.
• Our growing research portfolio leverages the strengths of the Novant system and UNC partnership to introduce novel studies to our community patients.

Team and Growth

• Current team includes 11 medical oncologists and 8 advanced practice providers, with plans to add at least two physicians in the next 12-18 months.
• Community growth and expanding specialty services create an immediate need for additional Hematology-Oncology providers.
• Call is 1 in 11, evenly distributed.
• A robust hospitalist service manages admissions.
• We focus on disease site specialization, with physicians typically concentrating on 1-2 primary disease sites.
