Hospitalists manage admissions; two advanced practice providers support care with no supervision required. Expect consults, follow-ups, and therapy oversight, plus procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and IV IgG. Travel logistics are covered.

Qualifications

• Must be MD or DO.
• Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.
• Active Iowa license or IMLC LOQ.
• BLS and DEA required.

Responsibilities

• Primarily clinic-based adult hematology/oncology workload with limited inpatient responsibilities.
• Provide consults, follow-up care, and oversee antineoplastic therapy.
• Perform procedures like bone marrow biopsies, phlebotomies, IV IgG and iron therapy.
• Coordinate with nursing, lab, social work, referral and dietitian resources.

Schedule

• Typically Monday through Thursday
• 8 hour daytime shifts
• Potential phone-only call one week and one weekend per month

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Must be Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
• Active Iowa license or active IMLC LOQ required
• BLS and DEA required
