Charleston Area Medical Center and the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine are seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the founding Section Chief of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancy.
The Section Chief will collaborate with Hematology/Oncology leadership, the Internal Medicine Department Chair, and faculty to develop the vision and operational strategy for the section, encompassing clinical care and academic advancement. The role includes serving as Associate Program Director for the Hematology-Oncology fellowship program, starting in July 2024.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced hematologist with a strong interest in education and research, demonstrating leadership skills. They should be a builder with operational and strategic expertise, capable of developing an implementable future plan for the section. The leader will also serve as a content expert as the organization advances a CAR T-cell program.
