Job summary

Ascension Saint Agnes Cancer Institute in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced Hematology/Oncology physician to join a multidisciplinary, outpatient team. This full-time role blends direct patient care with leadership responsibilities and access to comprehensive cancer care resources within a leading health system.

Board Certified/Eligible in Hematology/Oncology, MD/DO with fellowship training, and Maryland licensure are required.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians prior to hire or transfer date.
• Fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
• Maryland licensure and DEA registration eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Join an established team of 6 physicians and 4 APPs.
• Call structure: 1:6 weekend call, mostly from home.
• Practice setting: Outpatient.
• Provide clinical leadership for the Immunotherapy Clinic and chemotherapy infusion area, ensuring patient safety and acting as the medical anchor for nursing during complex reactions.

• Access to on-site Radiation Oncology, care navigation, embedded social work, and financial counseling
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
• Exercise clinical autonomy by managing a rewarding, diverse panel of general hematology and oncology cases, with the full backing and resources of the institute to cultivate or maintain your specific subspecialty passions
• Provide expert clinical leadership and oversight for the Immunotherapy Clinic and chemotherapy infusion area, ensuring patient safety during treatments and serving as the immediate medical anchor for the nursing team during complex reactions or emergencies.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
