• Ensures best-practice clinical care, patient satisfaction, and efficient medication-use workflow.
• Evaluates current pharmacy practice and makes recommendations.
• Oversees and plans development of new programs based on need and opportunity.
• Addresses staff and patient issues; seeks HR or leadership counsel when needed.
• Performs performance management for assigned staff.
• Maintains adequate staffing levels and skill mix to support patient care.
• Responsible for staff recruitment and hiring in assigned area.
• Maintains standards, clinical and operational activities, and performance metrics.
• Analyzes changes in medication utilization and costs, including drivers of change.
• Collaborates with pharmacists, physicians, and admin partners to address utilization issues.
• Contributes to evidence-based, cost-containment protocols and therapies.
• Provides input into staffing and financial budgets for assigned areas.
