Job summary

GRMC is seeking a Hematology Oncology - Medical Assistant who will provide safe, quality care to a group of patients for designated time frames, in accordance with American Association of Medical Assistants guidelines.

The position requires certification or eligibility, completion of MA/Nursing programs, BLS, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, EMR proficiency, and teamwork within a GRMC care team.

Hematology Oncology - Medical Assistant

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Medical Assistant is a certified, registered or certification-eligible professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This individual provides safe, quality care to these patients in accordance to the standards established by the American Association of Medical Assistants.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

• Certificate from a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program
• Completion of an associate or college education program in nursing or allied health from a verifiable educational institution

Minimum Work Experience

• Two (2) years of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant preferred within the past five (5) years

Required Licenses / Certifications

• BLS Certification

• Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with all customers (patients, visitors, hospital staff and others).
