Job summary

Presbyterian Medical Group in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Hospitalist to join our established practice. We provide inpatient rounding, no nights or weekends, and collaborate across the Hematology/Oncology care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
• BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology.
• NM Medical License.
• Demonstration of CARES behaviors and the practice of collaborative care.
• 3-5 years minimum experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order and oversee diagnostic testing per NCCN guidelines.
• Prescribe treatment and supportive medications in coordination with the care team.
• Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians.
• Participate in tumor boards and process-improvement initiatives.

Summary

Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. Medical oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders.

Practice Highlights

• Inpatient Rounding providing consultative care
• No nights, No weekends
• Collaborate with Hematology/Oncology care team while managing inpatient services

Responsibilities

In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications; collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure. Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum. Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
