Job summary

Physicians' Clinic of Iowa in Cedar Rapids seeks a full-time Float Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in a busy hematology and oncology practice.

The role includes patient monitoring, triage, EMR documentation, medication administration, coordination of referrals and tests, and collaboration with providers to ensure timely follow-up. CPR certification and licensure are required; experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical certification/license required.
• CPR certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR and related computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate patients, including vitals and nurse visits.
• Triage patient calls and document information in EHR with follow-up within 24 hours.
• Administer medications and injections; assist with bone marrow procedures.
• Educate patients and monitor for changes in condition or treatment response.
• Follow treatment protocols and assist with managing side effects.
• Perform daily chart reviews and notify patients of labs, scans or test results.
• Coordinate referrals and track lab/pathology reports.
• Support providers by managing hospital admissions, transfusions, biopsies, labs, and imaging.
• Transport patients between exam rooms and chemo sub wait areas.
• Cross-train to act as a scribe as needed.
