Job description

Mount Sinai Medical Center's Award-Winning Cancer Center is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Hematologist-Oncologist to join our distinguished team.

We provide state-of-the-art treatment for patients with cancer, incorporating the latest research and treatment options to deliver individualized care.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Working closely with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and potential side effects.
  2. Leading a cancer treatment team of healthcare professionals.
  3. Coordinating treatment plans and prescribing therapies such as chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
  4. Responding to medical and oncologic emergencies in clinics.
  5. Participating actively in the Department of Medicine and Division of Medical Oncology through meetings, tumor boards, and grand rounds.
  6. Performing procedures like bone marrow biopsies as needed.
  7. Designing and participating in clinical trial research, enrolling patients into studies.
  8. Engaging in multidisciplinary conferences.
  9. Monitoring ongoing treatments and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to review cases. Our patients benefit from access to leading cancer trials, including promising treatments before FDA approval.
Qualifications
  • A commitment to patient-centered multidisciplinary oncology care.
  • BE / BC with excellent clinical training.
  • Experience in general oncology, including hematology and solid tumors.
  • Training in benign hematology is preferred.
  • An adaptable colleague interested in building practice and engaging with the community.
  • Strong interest in clinical research and medical education is encouraged.
