Hematology/Oncology Opportunity – Southbury/New Milford, Connecticut – 75 Miles from New York City
Nuvance Health has an exciting opportunity for a Hematologist/Oncologist in our Southbury and New Milford offices, affiliated with Danbury and New Milford Hospitals, about 75 miles outside of New York City. Our Cancer Institute is expanding rapidly, increasing our clinical trial portfolio and aiming to become a regional destination for cancer care.
***Our Chair of the Cancer Institute, Dr. Adam Boruchov, and Dr. George Zahrah, Regional Chief and Medical Director, Oncology East, will attend the upcoming ASCO conference this June in Chicago and will be available to meet interested candidates.***
***A $50,000 sign-on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full-time candidates.***
The ideal candidate will be board certified in oncology and may develop a breast sub-specialization within the practice. Patients will be seen at both our Southbury and New Milford locations. We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary, incentives, and allowances for CME and dues expenses.
Danbury and New Milford Hospitals are part of Nuvance Health, which includes 7 hospitals and cancer centers across western Connecticut and southeastern New York, diagnosing approximately 4,600 new cancer cases annually. Danbury Hospital offers tertiary oncology services and is accredited as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by The American College of Surgeons. It features state-of-the-art radiation oncology, surgical specialties in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology, and Hepatobiliary Surgery, along with nurse navigation, genetic counseling, and screening services. Opportunities for research and clinical trials are available.
Founded in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital with 371 beds, a Level II Trauma Center, and about 70,000 ED visits per year. It is affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. The Medical Group includes over 1,000 physicians and advanced practice providers serving Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
The region borders Fairfield County, with Southbury located along Route 84, about 20 miles east of Danbury. It offers proximity to New York City and diverse recreational activities for all seasons.
