Practice with Purpose. Grow with Baystate Health.

Build the Career You Envision

Join a growing, academically integrated cancer program where you can build a disease-focused practice, collaborate with exceptional multidisciplinary colleagues, and help shape the future of cancer care across western Massachusetts.

The Baystate Regional Cancer Program cares for more than 3,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients annually, representing approximately 70% of cancer care across western Massachusetts. Over the past two years, our physician division has grown by approximately 40%, reflecting continued investment in expanding subspecialty expertise, improving patient access, strengthening multidisciplinary cancer care, and supporting physician leadership.

Our goal is to build one of the region's premier multidisciplinary cancer programs by investing in exceptional physicians, innovative care models, and disease-focused clinical excellence.

We are seeking Hematologists/Oncologists with clinical interests in GI, GU, thoracic medical oncology, or hematology.

Why Join the Baystate Regional Cancer Program?

As we continue to expand our clinical programs, research portfolio, and multidisciplinary services, we are looking for physicians who want to help shape the future of cancer care in western Massachusetts.

  • Disease-Focused Practice: Practice within established multidisciplinary disease teams while building or expanding your subspecialty interests in GI, GU, thoracic, or hematologic oncology, with opportunities to help shape the continued growth of our disease-focused programs.

  • Collaborative Practice Model: Physicians practice within disease-focused care teams supported by experienced Advanced Practice Providers, practice nurses, administrative staff, pharmacists, and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team.

  • Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Care: Practice within a fully integrated cancer program that includes dedicated Neuro-Oncology and Outpatient Palliative Care programs, alongside multidisciplinary disease teams in thoracic, GI, breast, and hematologic oncology. Collaborate closely with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, molecular diagnostics, pathology, radiology, interventional radiology, and advanced procedural specialists, including interventional pulmonology and advanced endoscopy.

  • Clinical Trials & Innovation: Participate in investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry-sponsored clinical trials while helping expand precision oncology, biomarker-driven therapies, translational research and access to innovative cancer treatments across the region.

  • Academic Opportunities: Faculty appointment at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate with opportunities to teach fellows, residents, and medical students, participate in clinical research and scholarly activity, and contribute to the continued growth of our academic mission.

  • Leadership & Program Development: Help shape the next phase of growth for the Baystate Regional Cancer Program through disease program development, multidisciplinary initiatives, quality improvement, clinical innovation, and leadership opportunities aligned with your interests.

  • Designed to Support Physicians: Separate hematology and oncology consult services, patients admitted under hospitalist services with strong inpatient support, weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards, and clinic schedules designed to promote continuity of care and a sustainable clinical practice.
