Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Thoracic Oncologist to join the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UMass Memorial Medical Group. The role combines academic practice with high-quality community-based cancer care across a network of facilities in central Massachusetts.

The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, participate in tumor boards, teaching, and research, and contribute to clinical excellence, education, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and eligibility for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
• Strong interest in academic medicine, teaching, and clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Provide thoracic and head & neck oncology patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, teaching, and clinical research activities.
• Maintain an academic appointment with UMass Chan Medical School commensurate with experience.
• Collaborate in a high-volume cancer program with a focus on patient-centered care.

About The Role

Join a vibrant and growing Division of Hematology/Oncology, which includes:

• 28 Board-Certified Physicians and 31 Advanced Practice Providers
• An integrated, multidisciplinary Cancer Center of Excellence focused on clinical care and innovation
• Access to state-of-the-arte clinical and research facilities
• Affiliation with the UMass Chan Medical School, a nationally ranked academic institution

Key Highlights

• Clinical focus on thoracic and head & neck cancers across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Clinic schedule: 6 half-day sessions per week, average of 8 patients per session
• Protected administrative time: 1 day per week
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Practice sites may include Worcester and either Leominster or Marlborough
• Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, fellowship curriculum, and conferences
• Academic appointment at UMass Chan Medical School, commensurate with experience
• Opportunities for involvement in teaching, clinical research, quality improvement, community outreach, and leadership
