Job summary

UChicago Medicine Medical Group in Orland Park is seeking a Medical Oncologist to join a growing team of experienced oncologists. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and collaboration with nursing and support staff to deliver comprehensive cancer treatment.

The successful candidate will hold an Illinois medical license, be board-certified or eligible, and have completed a US residency with 3–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Medical License in Illinois.
• Board-certified or Board-eligible in a Specified Area of Medical Specialty.
• 3–5 years of experience is preferred.
• Completed a US Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
• Refers patients to subspecialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required
• As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs
• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
• Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
• Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
