Job summary

Sovah Health-Martinsville in Martinsville, VA is recruiting a BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist to join a hospital-employed team serving the Martinsville community. The role mixes outpatient care with collaboration across Hem/Onc, APP, and Rad/Onc colleagues in a supportive, low-turnover environment.

You will participate in bi-weekly tumor boards, clinical trials programs, and utilize the Aria Oncology information system, with a patient load of 15–20 per day and access to comprehensive hospital

Qualifications

• Board-certified Hematologist/Oncologist
• Licensed to practice in Virginia
• Experience in outpatient hematology/oncology care is preferred

Position Details:

Sovah Health, a two-hospital system on the southern border of Virginia, is located in Martinsville and Danville. We are growing with the addition of a hospital-employed, full-time BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist to strengthen our established team. Those who are currently practicing or are currently in training can be considered.

• Join an employed group composed of Hem/Oncs, APP, and Rad/Onc on-site
• Bi-weekly tumor board and clinical trial programs
• Aria Oncology information system
• Averaging 15-20 patients per day, outpatient clinic
• 10 infusion chairs, 2 quick chairs
• Inpatient treatment referred to large academic centers in the area
• Staffed with navigators, pharmacist, pharm tech, lab tech with lab draws in office, phlebotomist, office manager, clinical director (shared with radiation oncology)
• 24/7 Hospitalist coverage
• Most local referrals come from GS, GI, Uro, Pulm, ENT and Neph. Common Oncology scope breast, prostate, lung, colon, head/neck, with a large Hematology panel
• Good working relationship with tertiary centers in region
• Low turnover in the clinic with a true family atmosphere
• Can sponsor J1 waiver
