Job summary

UP Health System-Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Hematologist/Oncologist to join a hospital-employed, Duke Cancer Care Affiliated program in Marquette, MI. Expect a robust clinical workload with APP support and a research portfolio.

Days are typically 8a-5p, with 18-25 patient encounters daily, some inpatient rounds by APPs, and a rare 1:3 call. A comprehensive compensation package includes base salary, bonus, sign-on, relocation, and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day: Average patient load of 18-25 patients per day, 8a to 5p, Monday through Friday
• Inpatient: rounding by APPs for current practice patients, with admissions managed by the 24/7 hospitalist group, physician consultations provided as needed for hospital admissions
• Call: phone only 1:3. Calls are rare. Triage nurse handles all incoming clinical calls
• Weekly Tumor Boards: meetings with major serviceline collaboration onsite
• Clinical Research Trial Portfolio: with a comprehensive support team including a genetic counselor and dedicated research associate

Position Summary:

• Full time, part time and PSA shifts available


• Hospital employed and established Duke Cancer Care Affiliated program


• Join BC Hematologist/Oncologists with APP support


• Day-to-Day: Average patient load of 18-25 patients per day, 8a to 5p, Monday through Friday


• Inpatient: rounding by APPs for current practice patients, with admissions managed by the 24/7 hospitalist group, physician consultations provided as needed for hospital admissions

• Acute leukemics referred to higher levels of care


• Weekly Tumor Boards: meetings with major serviceline collaboration onsite


• Clinical Research Trial Portfolio: with a comprehensive support team including a genetic counselor and dedicated research associate, etc.


• Accolades: American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and American College of Radiology Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation (ACR ROPA)
